ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,343,275, issued on July 1.

"Thumb brace" was invented by Hugh Allen Frederick (Dallas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A thumb brace comprising a glove having a thumb portion disposed between a palm side and a back side; and a pad attached to the glove and positioned proximate the base of the thumb portion on the back side of the glove such that the pad cushions a CMC joint of a user of the brace from impact."

The patent was filed on Jan. 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/093,697.
