ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,348,616, issued on July 1.

"System and method for device-specific cryptographic key" was invented by Ruben Buckris (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Linda Buckris (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system and method for securely obtaining access to a program operating on a remote device via a local smart pass program transmitting a local cryptographic key specific to a local user device."

The patent was filed on Dec. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/978,819.
