ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,345,353, issued on July 1.

"Safety handle for faucet" was invented by Y-Tan Liaw (Taipei, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A safety handle for a faucet is disclosed. The faucet is composed of a valve body, a top cover, an elastic valve element, a working rod and a first spring. The safety handle is a fool-proof device. Unless the safety handle is clamped by them user, the safety handle cannot actuate the working rod to compress the elastic valve element, causing liquid to flow through the valve body."

The patent was filed on Oct. 31, 2023, under Application No. 18/385,836.
