ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,342,919, issued on July 1.

"Interactive styling hairbrush" was invented by Michael Victor Vecchiola (Toronto) and Patricia M. Coyne (Toronto).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A styling brush with vanes that is interactive, which directs and redirects air flow of a hair dryer, is used to improve styling techniques for right-handed or left-handed users. The bristles of the brush may be such that the user's hair floats on a cushion of bristles to speed up drying and protect the user's hair from excessive heat damage."

The patent was filed on Sept. 6, 2022, under Application No. 17/903,479.
