"Musical note value pie" was invented by Dagmar Kardel (Southwest Ranches, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A musical note value pie to show the mathematical relationship of basic musical notes among each other in reference to time duration of rhythm that includes a plurality of pie shaped segments of different colors representing different musical note values and a plurality of flash cards for teaching different note values, each of the flash cards being a different color commensurate with the note value represented."
The patent was filed on May 28, 2025, under Application No. 19/220,528.
