According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an article of footwear for walking on sand other surfaces. The outsole of the footwear includes a lugged tread pattern like that of a tractor tire for traction while walking on sand other like surfaces. Cushioning on the insole moderates the impact when a wearer walks on a hard surface.
