According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A light shade is disclosed. The light shade includes a mount that attaches to a light-emitting device, such as a medical device. A shade panel in a closed position covers some or all of the light-emitting portions of the medical device. The shade panel is held in an open position to allow full interaction with the medical device by a hinge and one or more locks.
