According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The fishing lure includes a head with a bell-shaped tip that collects water as the lure moves. The water is directed through channels, creating cavitation bubbles at the channel outlets. The body houses the electronics and weights. The body includes holes in the form of mock gills that allow water to enter. The water activates the electronics, causing the light to begin pulsing.
