According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A thermoplastic frame for holding acoustical material has extruded square plastic tubing that is inserted or snap-fit onto corner connectors and T-connectors to make an enclosure that houses and compresses the acoustic material. During assembly of the frame, the acoustic material is inserted in the open side of a secondary frame assembly and enclosed and compressed with a cap assembly snap-fit onto the secondary frame assembly."
