According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A water pipe bowl adapter includes a body having an upper end surface, a lower end surface, an outer edge, and a flexible lip that extends downwardly from the body outer edge. There is a through opening extending through each of the upper and lower end surfaces. The lip and lower end recessed portion form a seal for connection with an upper end of a water pipe bowl.
