ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,218,644, issued on Feb. 4.
"Acoustic resonator" was invented by David Woolsey (Berkeley, Calif.) and Gabriel A. Matus (Morgan Hill, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A resonator comprising a piezoelectric film which creates an acoustic path that is slightly longer in a central region of the resonator than at an edge of the resonator."
The patent was filed on March 5, 2021, under Application No. 17/194,109.
