ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,540,100, issued on Feb. 3.
"Carbon-footprint-reduced concrete slab on ground system and method for constructing same" was invented by S. Allen Face III (Sleepy Hollow, Ill.) and Silvia Espenhain Face (Sleepy Hollow, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of fabricating a concrete slab on ground system includes depositing wet geopolymer cement concrete on a ground substrate to generate a first slab. Wet Portland cement concrete is then deposited on the first slab to generate a second slab."
The patent was filed on July 30, 2024, under Application No. 18/788,597.
