According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The device is a modular exercise weight system comprising at least one outer containing bag which can contain at least one particle filled weight bags. The user lifts the outer containing bag for exercise. Multiple outer containing bags may be affixed to a bar and the bar may be lifted for exercise. The outer containing bags may be affixed to an element of a machine and the element of the machine may be lifted or manipulated for exercise."
