"Artificial valve" was invented by Peter Forsell (Bouveret, Switzerland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to an auxiliary artificial valve for implantation in blood vessel of a mammal patient. The artificial valve is provided with at least a first moving part and a second moving part configured to move between an closed position and an opened position, and a casing comprising at least one hinge, wherein the at least first moving part and second moving part are configured to be movably attached to the casing by means of said at least one hinge."
