ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,226,316, issued on Feb. 18.
"Implantable medical device for lubrication of a synovial joint" was invented by Peter Forsell (Bouvret, Switzerland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A solid lubricant for use in a medical device for lubrication of a synovial joint, wherein said lubricant comprises at least one of: a high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid; a crosslinked high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid; and a hyaluronic acid of at least two different high-molecular weights being crosslinked to form a semisolid gel."
The patent was filed on Dec. 8, 2021, under Application No. 17/544,973.
