ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,227,093, issued on Feb. 18.

"Conformal charging system" was invented by Arnold Chase (West Hartford, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wireless charging system for a vehicle and a method of operating is provided. The system includes a vehicle having a floor pan disposed opposite a ground surface. At least one battery is provided that is configured to provide energy to the vehicle. At least one power receiving coil is electrically coupled to the at least one battery and arranged within a housing adjacent the floor pan opposite the ground surface."

The patent was filed on Sept. 1, 2022, under Application No. 17/901,149.
