"Orthodontic hybrid bracket" was invented by Michael Stuart Johnston (Simpsonville, S.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An orthodontic hybrid bracket having a body dimensioned and adapted to engage a plurality of surfaces of a posterior tooth, wherein the body terminates proximal of the distal surface of the posterior tooth."
The patent was filed on Nov. 16, 2021, under Application No. 17/455,105.
