"Luggage rack accessory" was invented by Jennifer Mink (Yardley, Pa.) and Laura Farber (Henderson, Nev.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The luggage rack accessory includes a woven platform on foldable clam shell structure that is utilized in conjunction with an existing luggage pedestal to support a luggage item. The woven platform attaches to the clamshell structure to form a load bearing surface. The luggage pedestal elevates the load bearing surface. The load bearing surface receives the luggage item. The load bearing surface transfers the load of the luggage item to the luggage pedestal."
