ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,546,574, issued on Feb. 10.

"Interceptor" was invented by David Cohen (Herzliya, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Device for interception of incoming ordnance, comprises a dispersion unit to disperse an explosive cloud in an expected path of the incoming ordnance, a proximity detector to detect proximity of the incoming ordnance in relation to the explosive cloud; and an ignition unit associated with said proximity detector that ignites the explosive cloud to disrupt the incoming ordnance."

The patent was filed on Nov. 9, 2022, under Application No. 17/983,421.
