"Ant control box" was invented by Shu-Jhih Li (Taichung, Taiwan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ant control box includes a box body having a housing space therein; and a lamp disposed in the housing space and capable of emitting a light covering at least 80% of a total area of the housing space for interfering with activity of ants. With such configuration, the present disclosure effectively prevents ants from gathering and nesting inside the box through the light illumination, thereby avoiding interference with equipment, achieving a non-chemical and environmentally friendly ants repellent effect."
