ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,151, issued on Dec. 9.

"Apparatus and method for substrate-backed porcelain" was invented by Thomas Gust (Barrington, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and apparatus is disclosed for substrate-backed porcelain. A sheet of substrate is secured to a sheet of porcelain. A surface of the substrate is coated with adhesive. A surface of the porcelain is coated with adhesive. The surfaces are joined together by the adhesive. A force is applied across the surfaces to improve adhesion."

The patent was filed on Sept. 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/461,164.
