"Functional junctional mosaic terrains" was invented by Jim Schwaiger (Huron, S.D.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mosaic terrain for computer applications, websites and games is provided, composed of functional junctional mosaic terrain tiles with functional junctions. Functional junctions allow tiles to be placed and connected by users without programming or coding, and combining the function of the tiles through their junctions allows complex operations to be constructed. This facilitates an interactive, functional terrain to be designed by users with minimal traditional programming or coding knowledge."
