According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Apparatuses, methods, and systems for magnetizing objects to create permanent magnets. A created or resulting permanent magnet's magnetic orientation continuously varies according to Halbach's formula. The invention includes the use of one or more magnetic rods. A monobloc annular ring typically is the object that is converted into a permanent magnet; the monobloc ring lacked the desired magnetic properties prior to the practice of the invention."
