According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A guitar sound plate for improving the sound quality of a guitar by enhancing volume and sustain. The guitar sound plate comprises a rigid plate positioned inside the body of the guitar beneath the bridge. The rigid plate includes a plurality of string apertures, each with a countersink on the underside for seating ball ends of guitar strings.
