According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of multicasting using small data transmission (SDT) includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) while in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state, one or more configuration parameters associated with reception of multicast SDT data, transitioning, by the UE, from the RRC connected state to an RRC inactive state, receiving, while in the RRC inactive state, a notification indicating start of a multicast SDT session, and receiving multicast SDT data pursuant to the notification."...
