ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. PP37,163, issued on Dec. 16.

"Salvia plant named 'Ignition Orange'" was invented by Kermit E. Carter (Elk, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new cultivar of Salvia x jamensis named 'Ignition Orange' that is distinguishable by its compact low-growing well-branched plant habit and flowers which are large for the species and are peach-orange in color and borne over a long blooming season. The leaves of 'Ignition Orange' are small, glossy and dark green in color."

The patent was filed on Feb. 20, 2025, under Application No. 19/058,226.
