"Retainer mechanism" was invented by Grigooris Manssourian (Glendale, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A retainer mechanism, comprising a first engagement assembly that is configured to be actively moved to one of a hold or a release state of the first engagement assembly, and a second engagement assembly that is configured to be passively moved to one of a hold or a release state of the second engagement assembly."
The patent was filed on June 9, 2022, under Application No. 17/836,097.
