According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A portable rotisserie device is provided for spinning a food item (e.g. meat, vegetables, etc.) and uniformly exposing the sides of the food to a remote heat source. The rotisserie includes a heat resistant base assembly that is positionable alongside or inside various types of remote heat sources, including campfires, wood-fired ovens, and the like.
