"Therapeutic polypeptide" was invented by Paul Thomas King (Glen Iris, Australia) and Ashley Maurice Buckle (Richmond, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This disclosure provides an alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) polypeptide as defined herein. Also provided herein are pharmaceutical compositions comprising the polypeptide, nucleic acids encoding the polypeptide, vectors comprising the nucleic acid, cells, and methods of producing the AAT polypeptide and method of using the AAT polypeptide in therapy."
