ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,381,950, issued on Aug. 5.
"Smart car" was invented by Ha Q Tran (Saratoga, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Smart car operations are detailed including capturing a point cloud from a vehicle street view and converting the point cloud to a 3D model; applying a trained neural network to detect street signs, cross walks, obstacles, or bike lanes; and generating driving recommendations based on driver behavior parameters by comparing the driver behavior parameters with one or more drivers with substantially similar behavior parameters."
The patent was filed on April 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/135,079.
