"Flow-through filtration and waste separation device" was invented by Shi-En Shiau (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Brian Chia-Huan Shiau (Scottsdale, Ariz.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention is a flow-through flow-through filter that can separate raw water and/or sewage to filtered stream, fine particle stream and grit stream in one hydraulic device. For raw lake and/or canal water intake application, the flow-through filter is placed inside a chamber box that is mounted on a water intake rack structure or diversion canal.
