ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,392,447, issued on Aug. 19.

"Tripod-stabilizing weight plates" was invented by Scott Robertson Pim (Epping, N.H.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A stabilizing weight for tripods is formed from a rectangular plate with handles and latches. When a set of three weights are stacked in a container for transport, the handle height and the position of the latches prevents the latches from interfering, regardless of the stacking order."

The patent was filed on Feb. 4, 2024, under Application No. 18/432,012.
