According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A standpipe for a warewashing machine defining a drain aperture, the standpipe having an elongated tubular body having an open top end defined by a top edge and an open bottom end, and a cover portion including a base wall and a continuous sidewall extending downwardly from an outer perimeter of the base wall, wherein a bottom edge of the sidewall of the cover portion extends downwardly beyond the top edge of the elongated body."
