ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,545, issued on Aug. 19.
"Open-cell foam based pathogen remediation" was invented by Scott C. Smith (Osterville, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An open-cell foam structure that is impregnated with a disinfectant and used to remove pathogens from air, water, and surfaces, and kill the pathogens."
The patent was filed on Sept. 5, 2021, under Application No. 17/467,256.
