ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,492, issued on Aug. 19.
"Compositions and methods for treating age-related macular degeneration" was invented by Aya Barzelay (Ramat Gan, Israel), Adiel Barak (Hod Hasharon, Israel) and Anat Loewenstein (Tel Aviv, Israel).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to compositions for treating oxidative-stress related-damage of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells by contacting orbital fat-derived mesenchymal cell with the damaged RPE cells."
The patent was filed on March 7, 2019, under Application No. 16/978,735.
