ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,398, issued on Aug. 12.
"Truncated cone heart valve stent" was invented by Georg Lutter (Kiel, Germany) and Lucian Lozonschi (Madison, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A heart valve stent having a section with a heart valve implant and several proximally disposed tissue anchors, also comprising a plurality of anchoring threats, each with a proximate end fastened to the stent or valve and a distal end attached to tissue within a heart chamber to provide tension between the heart chamber tissue and the stent."
The patent was filed on Oct. 20, 2021, under Application No. 17/505,734.
