ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,648, issued on Aug. 12.
"Sterilization of face masks and face mask components" was invented by Aaron Neighbour (Danville, Calif.) and Jessica Williams (El Dorado Hills, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of disinfecting personal protective masks and mask filters, includes the step of applying sterilizing ionizing radiation to the personal protective mask while it is disposed in an electromagnetically shielded container."
The patent was filed on Aug. 26, 2021, under Application No. 17/446,155.
