According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A detachable canoe outrigger that is removably mounted to a canoe's gunwales using a dual beam assembly having two beam member that are fastened to the canoe. The beam members include slots to allow a user to selectively adjust the distance between the canoe and the outrigger.
