ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,270,301, issued on April 8.
"System and method for fluid manipulation" was invented by Paul Neiser (Mountain View, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "By manipulating the fluid flow in the proximity of an object such as a fuselage, a wing, or the hull of ship, the wave drag associated with this object can be substantially reduced. This can be accomplished by locally changing both the fluid flow velocity and the pressure of the fluid flow."
The patent was filed on Oct. 22, 2019, under Application No. 16/660,139.
