ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,269,145, issued on April 8.

"Socket wrench extension with flange" was invented by Stephen D. Albin (Los Altos, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An extension for use with a socket wrench is provided. A drive socket is at a first end of the extension. A hexagonal drive surrounds the drive socket and extends from the first end of the extension towards a second end of the extension. A flange with a knurled edge is at a second end of the hexagonal drive. A tool gripping flange is between the flange with the knurled edge and the second end of the extension. A male drive is at the second end of the extension."
