ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,284,996, issued on April 29.
"Tackle retriever" was invented by Christopher Haynes Clarkson (Howard, Colo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device for retrieving caught, stuck, or snagged fishing tackle may include a housing configured to mount to a handle; a blade assembly attached to the housing, the blade assembly comprise a head with a pair of curved arms; and a basket attached to and hanging from the housing, the basket including a handle configured to freely rotate within an orifice in the housing."
The patent was filed on Jan. 25, 2024, under Application No. 18/422,441.
