"Log splitter tool" was invented by Allan F. Froehlich (West Allis, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A log splitter tool preferably includes a splitter portion and a drive portion. The splitter portion includes a modified cone shape with a concave curved profile formed on a side. A cross section of the cone shape preferably has a twisting three-lobe shape.
