"German cockroach glue trap" was invented by Nick Suteerawanit (Laguna Woods, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A German cockroach glue trap comprising a dark colored base and lid. The base having an overall height between 25 mm and 40 mm. Openings through the base have a diameter between 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm, large enough for German cockroaches to enter but not too large to let in too much light. The centers of the lowest openings having heights preferably between 6 mm and 10 mm above a floor preventing touching the glue before being caught and allowing escape.
