According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A flat-back earplug includes an upper ring and a lower ring. The upper ring is defined with a passage used to accommodate an ear post of an ear stud to pass through, the ear post of the ear stud is inserted from one side of the passage and passes out from the other side of the passage, and an end surface of the upper ring for accommodating an insertion of the ear post is in contact with an ear.
