ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,862, issued on April 29.
"Composite cement retainer" was invented by Brad Scoggins (Odessa, Texas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system and method for a composite cement retainer. A composite cement retainer has various components. When these various components comprise composite where feasible, or a drillable metal, the retainer can be easily placed and quickly drilled if necessary."
The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2022, under Application No. 18/085,328.
