"Utility deck storage device" was invented by Eugene Washington Gros (Eagle Point, Ore.) and Charles P. Gros (White City, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A utility storage deck device 100 for a vehicle 200 comprises a load bearing bed cover 102, storage boxes 104, a headache rack 106, a primary deck 108 and a secondary deck 110.
