ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,276,098, issued on April 15.

"System for purifying and delivering surface water to an aquifer" was invented by Madhvi Chittoor (Arvada, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for purifying and delivering surface water from rain or snow-melt to the local aquifer in order to increase the local groundwater level, is disclosed. The system includes activated charcoal for removal of contaminants including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly referred to as PFAS, from surface water prior to delivering the water to the aquifer."

The patent was filed on Sept. 21, 2022, under Application No. 17/950,050.
