SPOKANE, Wash., Feb. 12 -- The city of Spokane issued the following news release:
Spokane Police Officers were involved in an officer involved shooting early Monday morning around 12:40 AM. The following information is preliminary; more information will be released at a later time by the Spokane Independent Investigation Response (SIIR) team.
On February 12th, at about 12:15 AM the Spokane Police Department received multiple calls from a home in the 1100 block of E. Wellesley advising a woman had just been shot. An SPD dispatcher taking one of the calls heard a woman yell and what sounded like possible gunfire in the background.
