U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) released the following statement today after the Senate failed to advance a common-sense proposal which had bipartisan support and would have prevented health insurance premiums from skyrocketing for millions of Americans next year:
"I am disappointed that Washington Republicans are choosing to allow a surge in health insurance costs to go forward - and that the American people will be forced to pay the price.
"The price will be paid by the Granite State couple who each earn $42,000 a year and will go into debt because their health insurance costs $12,000 more next year. The price will be paid by the mom who can't afford routin...
