Today, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is demanding (https://www.schiff.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Letter-to-VA-and-DHS.pdf) answers after a memo revealed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is collecting data of noncitizens "employed by or affiliated with" VA to share with other federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Schiff is raising concern the data will be used to further the Trump administration's mass detention and deportation agenda and instill fear among the veteran community and those who serve them.
